Cheapest is not always the best!

When selecting  your First Aid Training Provider, here are a few tips to take into consideration:-

Is the company registered with an awarding body and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) compliant?

All reputable training providers should be registered with and awarding body to ensure they  meet HSE requirements.

Awarding  bodies include
First Aid Industry Body (FAIB)
Federation of First Aid Training Organisations (FOFATO)
Qualsafe
Nuco

You can be assured that all training providers registered with an awarding body have the most recent  guidelines and lesson plans  which  conform to HSE directives.

Ask your training  provider who they are registered with before booking.

OTHERWISE……

It pays to check that the training  you are organising is compliant and fit for purpose.

Latest News!

Following the campaign by Hayley Gardyj, from Melksham to add CPR video training  to the “Red Book”, we are launching our own campaign to encourage parents and  carers to learn basic first aid training.

We are encouraging Schools and Early Years Settings to facilitate basic First Aid training for parents and carers so that they are confident in dealing with emergency situations.

Our Parents & Carers First Aid Training course is a 4 hour course designed to help identify and act when a child is in danger. CPR, choking, scalds etc are all covered in the course and we feel it is vital for anyone caring  for a young child or adult.

We are contacting Schools and Early Years Setting to request they pass on the details of the training course to PTA’s and  Early Years Management so that we can make sure that our message 4 hours training can mean the difference between doing nothing and saving  a life is relayed across the country.

Mrs Gardyj when interviewed by the BBC stated she would like it to be a legal requirement for all new parents to be CPR-trained.

“I won’t stop,” she added. “I won’t stop until I know that every parent is doing something, because it can be quite a scary thing to do.”
